David joined the National Oceanography Centre in 2002 as a software engineer working on developing toolkits for synergistic analysis of SAR imagery. Later he developed on an interactive web-based diagnostic system the international GHRSST project. He was responsible for the developing the diagnostic and quality assurance framework used by the ESA Medspiration project and the GMES MyOcean SST TAC. He is currently building an automated analysis system for operational wave forecasts under the ESA GlobWave project. He is also involved in researching improved SST observations in the Arctic region and in understanding the distribution of oceanic diurnal variability.
