Linda Moser, from Graz in Austria, obtained an M.Sc degree in Environmental System Sciences from the University of Graz in 2008, where she also worked as a tutor for remote sensing. She carried out her thesis research on remote sensing methods for glaciological applications, whilst also working as a contractor at the Graz University of Technology. Linda has completed several contracts and internships, e.g. at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu, Nepal, which included five weeks of field work in the Himalayas. She took part in Space Studies Program (SSP) of the International Space University (ISU) three times - in 2007 as a student at the Beihang University (BUAA) in Beijing, China; in 2009 as Teaching Associate for Satellite Applications at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC), California; and in 2010 as workshop lecturer at ISU Central Campus, Strasbourg, France.
Since September 2008 Linda has worked at ESA/ESRIN, located in Frascati, Italy, in ESA’s Earth Observation Directorate for the Science Strategy, Coordination and Planning Office (EOP-SA). She supports the project ‘Water Cycle Multi-mission Observation Strategy’ (WACMOS) as part of the Support to Sciences Element (STSE), and performs scientific research on land degradation. Linda is involved in Earth Observation educational projects (e.g. Eduspace) and is developing case studies for different remote sensing applications. She also provides support to ESA training courses.
