Dr. Giuseppe Ottavianelli ESA/ESRIN - Earth Observation Ground Segment Department Via Galileo Galilei, Casella Postale 64 00044 Frascati (RM) ITALY email: Giuseppe.Ottavianelli (at) esa.int Phone: +39 - 0694180484 http://www.esa.int/esaEO/ Born in Rome, Giuseppe was awarded a Master of Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, followed by an MSc in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University, also in the UK. He carried out the two final theses respectively at ESA/ESOC and at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace in Toulouse, France. He then came back to Cranfield to carry out research for a PhD in SAR data fusion techniques for Earth Observation applications related to environmental monitoring. In addition to his studies Giuseppe spent time as an intern at the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs in Vienna, was a teaching associate for the International Space University in Adelaide, Australia and also worked on the Global Land Cover Network at the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome. In ESRIN he has been assigned to EO Data Quality & Algorithms Management Office (EOP-GQ) to help establish quality control requirements of EO products for GMES multi-mission applications.
