Proceedings of the Dragon Programme Final Results - Call for Papers

 

Background

For the 16 applications projects that are investigating the use of ESA Envisat and ERS data for environmental monitoring in China, NRSCC and ESA propose to publish the final results as an ESA Special Publication (SP-655).

 

Objectives

The co-authored papers will provide the final results of the project teams after more than 4 years of research so bringing to an end this particular Sino-European collaboration programme. The proceedings will be available to all Dragon Programme investigators and will be made accessible on-line via the Dragon website.

 

Themes

The papers will focus on the 16-priority land, atmosphere and ocean themes covering the exploitation of ESA Envisat and ERS data during the life-time of the Dragon Programme namely:

·       Forest Mapping

·       Rice Monitoring

·       Forest Fire Monitoring

·       Earth Observation & Sport Events

·       Terrain Measurement

·       Oceanography from Space

·       Seismic Activity

·       Landslides

·       Drought Monitoring

·       Air Quality Monitoring

·       South East Asia Monsoon

·       Water Resources and Hydrology

·       Chemistry/Climate Change in the Atmosphere

·       Forest Information from POLInSAR

 

Schedule

  • This call for papers is open from 2 August 2007
  • Papers must be submitted by 30 November 2007
  • The ESA special publication shall be available at the 2008 Dragon Symposium scheduled to take place from 21-25 April 2008 in Beijing, P.R. China

We look forward to receiving your papers and to producing an interesting ESA Special Publication, which will be the final results and reporting for the first phase of the Dragon Programme.
